The exhibition IYKYK examines the dark side of modern society with a cognitive map that shows connections between information from search engines, the dark web, and offline sources. Toran Wolstencroft, Eli Hooper, Pedro Gossler, and Anna Carpay explore this theme using textiles, print, metal, and film, among other materials, and reflect on the past, present, and future.

Evelyn Schram - Mural M-Collection

Eveline Schram made a mural for the group exhibition The M-Collection Murals Inc., which opens on March 29th from 15:00 PM to 19:00 PM during Rotterdam Art Week. This work serves as the starting point for the other studio works on display in the exhibition.

On the former schoolyard of C 3-studios, Jacco Weener presents his latest work Square Circle Tower, A tower of natural materials, including branches, stones, and soil. All assembled using ethically and ecologically conscious materials. The work will remain on display at this location even after Rotterdam Art Week ends.

Samboleap Tol - Starlight

Samboleap Tol is one of 92 emerging artists exhibiting work at Prospects, the Mondriaan Fund's annual exhibition at Art Rotterdam. Tol is showing her latest work. Starlight, a kinetic sculpture composed of wood engravings, a water gong with mist, a soundscape of traditional drums, and even a rare meteorite. Tol incorporated texts from friends and mentors into the wooden panels, engraved in their ancestral scripts, from Khmer and Kawi to Hindi and Arabic.

At VLAK, Dakota Havard presents a series of large-scale print-paintings. Images from the recently released government documents concerning Jeffrey Epstein form the basis for this. Instead of explicit events, the works depict everyday, empty interiors such as hallways and offices, where violence is only implicitly present. The prints are disrupted by aggressive painterly interventions.

Horizontal Rain is a new, immersive sound installation by Anni Nops and Casimir Geelhoed. Using innovative software and no fewer than twenty speakers, they explore ways of treating sound as sculpture and choreography. Invisible to the eye, yet perceptible to the ear, the sounds can evoke associative mental images.
