Are you a Rotterdam visual artist and do you have a (specific) question about (a part of) your professional practice? With our Mentorship program, Art Office offers you the opportunity to take time for specific challenges you encounter. By discussing this with a colleague. The mentoring process opens the door to discussions with colleagues outside the immediate circle, can yield new knowledge and perspectives and lead to mutual inspiration.
Mentorship Esther Kokmeijer & Cristal de la Cruz Why this initiative? The Rotterdam artist community has a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise. Art Office believes it is important to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the city, as these are crucial for growth and development. With the Mentorship program, we aim to build a mentor network that connects artists with diverse experiences and expertise.
Art Office encourages this exchange by connecting artists and making an amount available for the mentor's hours. We expect that this will not only contribute to the development of individual professional practices, but will also strengthen the position of visual artists and the Rotterdam network.
For whom? The mentorship program is intended for Rotterdam visual artists who: – are registered with Art Office; – have Art Office login details; – have updated their artist page to date.
Mentorship Gyz La Rivière & Rowan van As How does it work? – Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
– For each course, four contact hours are available with a mentor, during which a specific question within professional practice is addressed. Mentors receive a fee of €200 excluding VAT for four hours of guidance.
– The available hours will be allocated in consultation with the participants as desired, with a maximum duration of six months.
– We aim to have a match within three weeks. We will inform you about this by email. You can then contact your mentor yourself to make an appointment.
