This summer, Galerie Atelier Herenplaats will take over the space in the Doelen Art. From 13 June to 19 July, you can see idiosyncratic and expressive work by Rotterdam artists with a special story.
Atelier Herenplaats has been a city institution since 1991. In the studio on Schietbaanstraat, dozens of artists with intellectual disabilities or psychiatric conditions work daily on their development. For these artists, who don't automatically have access to art schools, Herenplaats offers a dedicated art program with professional guidance. The result? Raw, surprising, and original work—now exhibited worldwide. During this exhibition, a selection of these gems can be admired at Doelen Art. A unique opportunity to discover these artists and their work, right in the heart of the city. View work by Minke de Fonkert, Jeroen Pomp, Wouter Valentijn, Niels Lagerwaard, Remco Roggeveen, Marco Barbier, Paulus de Groot, Laan Irodjojo, Liva Dencher and Ben August.
