CBK Rotterdam is looking for I&M advisors.

Are you an artist, maker, or doer with a visual arts background? Or an expert or critic with an art historical background? Do you have an affinity with the Rotterdam cultural network and are you interested in the work of Rotterdam visual artists? CBK Rotterdam is seeking advisors for the committee of the Impuls & Verdieping (I&V) scheme, a funding scheme that gives Rotterdam visual artists a boost and allows them to deepen their work. With this scheme, the focus is on the process, not the result.

CBK Rotterdam has been a leading player in the Rotterdam art landscape for decades. The organization stimulates and supports contemporary visual art and connects art, the city, and society. CBK Rotterdam is actively committed to an inclusive and just cultural practice. We want our organization, programming, and collaborations to reflect the diversity of Rotterdam – in perspectives, stories, and makers.

Artists, makers, and practitioners with a visual arts background, as well as experts with an art historical background or art critics, are cordially invited to apply. When composing the committee, attention is paid to expertise, knowledge, and experience, as well as to a representative and balanced cross-section of the artistic field. Consideration is given to, among other things, age, diverse backgrounds and cultural contexts, position within the field, and the stage of professional practice (starter or more established). Affinity with the Rotterdam cultural network is a plus.

Nature of the scheme
Thanks to the I&V scheme, Rotterdam visual artists can further develop their professional practice and increase their visibility. The scheme receives applications from individual visual artists registered with CBK Rotterdam.

Committee working method
The advisory committee holds two meeting rounds per year. Each round consists of three meeting days, and each committee member participates in one meeting day per round and assesses an average of approximately 40 applications.

The meeting consists of the chairperson and three advisors. The advisors individually assess the applications, which are briefly discussed jointly during the meetings. The next meetings in 2026 are scheduled for October 12, 13, and 14.

compensation
Advisors receive remuneration (attendance fee) and reimbursement for travel expenses.

Job application
Do you recognize yourself in this role and are you enthusiastic about contributing to the visual arts in Rotterdam as an advisor? Then we cordially invite you to contact the coordinator of the scheme: Agnes Warntjes, a.warntjes@cbkrotterdam.nl (preferably before August 10, 2026). The introductory interviews will take place in week 36 of 2026.
