PODCAST | Nooit Meer Slapen, interview with Natascha Libbert
Natascha Libbert is a photographer and artist. She focuses on photographing landscapes where human activity has led to major change, for example through industry or climate change. Whether that be abandoned copper mines in Cyprus, plastic lakes in Spain, or a sea lock in a canal. In 2018, she published the photobook. I Went Looking for a Ship, about the invisible side of shipping, and for KLM she documented what the corona pandemic was like for the aviation industry.

In 2005 founded jeroen koolhaas Together with a fellow artist, he launched the Favela Painting project: gigantic murals in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro that attracted worldwide attention. What followed was an international stream of projects; from the US to Haiti, Curaçao, and Greece, always created *with* the local community. After fifteen years, the collaboration came to an end. A turning point that forced Jeroen to take a fresh look at himself: who am I as an artist without a collective? DOCUMENTARY | The Hidden Installation
In the early 2000s, a 'mega-mall' was built in Providence (Rhode Island, USA). However, the 130.000 m² of shopping pleasure had a downside. Due to the construction and the encroaching gentrification, homes and creative havens for local residents were lost. A group of young artists decided on a radical counter-action.
