Turning Towards

From March 27 to May 3, 2026, curators and artists Yoram Yutte and Lisa Meijer will present the exhibition Turning Towards at Studio 2, de Doelen Art, featuring Mean Collection, Lissa Gasparotto, Mar Gimeno Lumbiarres, Dineke van Huizen, and Manon Malan.

These are the City Artists of 2026

Peyman Fazeli, Steef Offerhaus, and Tessa Biemans have been selected as City Artists of 2026. Each year, artists—the City Artists—are commissioned by the Rotterdam City Archives, the Kunsthal, and CBK Rotterdam to capture current events in the city in drawings. The theme "Night in Motion" invites the artists to explore and depict the nocturnal realm.

7 x Art Office makes possible

Rotterdam Art Week will take place from March 25 to 29, 2026. Work made possible by grants such as the I&V scheme and the Practical Contribution will be on display at various locations throughout the city.

For over two years, Rotterdam-based visual artist Maarten Bel has been creating the VPRO Youth program "The Gift Factory." Using mysterious machines, Bel creates a unique gift for a special someone.

Will you be the new artist-in-residence in Dresden?

The Goethe Institut Netherlands, the Arts and Culture Department of the City of Dresden, and CBK Rotterdam will once again offer an artist-in-residence program in Dresden in 2026. This program will provide a Rotterdam-based visual artist with the opportunity to stay in Dresden for two months.

DO NOT CROSS. is an exhibition featuring eight artists, four of whom are from Ukraine, who consciously seek out, explore, consciously transgress, and transform the safe boundaries and established rules of their lives and work into powerful visual statements. The exhibition opens on February 12, 2026.

Nieuw Charlois kicks off the year with the group exhibition "Thinking in Textiles." The exhibition brings together eight artists who work with fibers and fabric as spaces where memory, identity, meaning, and resistance take shape. It runs from January 17 to February 14, 2026.
