'Fertile Symbiosis' is a 3D stained-glass sculpture by Marie Caye. The work originated from her research into the decorations in the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam. Caye was inspired not only by the stained-glass windows but also by the natural stone patterns visible in both the windows and some of the floor slabs. At Make Eindhoven, she experimented with warm glass and metal wires: she combined the traditional elements of classical stained glass with a mold to create volume and textures. The work was on display in June 2026 during the exhibition Nebula at De Achtertuin in Rotterdam.
