'WERK ZE' is an exhibition by Alexandra Phillips in her own studio during Rotterdam Art Week 2026. It is a playful yet critical response to art fairs. During WERK ZE, visitors are shown not only the final artworks, but, more importantly, the process leading up to them. In the studio, the focus is on the work that leads to the artwork. For the exhibition, Phillips rearranged her studio so that finished works and work in progress entered into a dialogue. Visitors could walk in during Rotterdam Art Week, but also attend two events. There was a cocktail evening with a talk by art historian Antoon Melissen and a morning reception with coffee and tea.
