With 'Wear me Tight! Hihihi', a collection of sexwear and toys, Dragadina pays tribute to local queer nightclub artists. At a time when the rights of queer and femme people are increasingly restricted, the artist aims to offer them a new opportunity to celebrate sexual fantasies and gender expression. The current range of sex toys and apparel is limited to a traditional aesthetic and associated gender roles, whereas there is a growing need for designers and companies that provide more space for experimentation, fantasies, and diversity. The first phase of the project consists of contextual and visual research. Subsequently, Dragadina engages in conversation with several queer artists about their relationship to fantasy, sexuality, and gender expression. These interviews will be broadcast online to break the taboo surrounding these themes. Based on this, the artist begins material research for the new line of toys, lingerie, corsets, and whips, which they are designing in collaboration with Poodle. The collection will be presented with a film trailer and performances at Roodkapje in Rotterdam and New Fears in Berlin.
