Thanks to a Practical Grant, Ari David spent a year creating "Wear Me Out," a lecture-performance about exhaustion. The work poses the question: how does exhaustion arise and how does it become visible? David focuses primarily on the experience economy, cultural institutions, and the invisible, often freelance, labor that sustains them. What price do we pay for this constant exhaustion—of our bodies, our attention, and the planet? With this performance, David brings together a multitude of voices, gestures, and testimonies, drawn from personal experiences, literature, digital material, and conversations with people in the cultural field. The work was premiered in September 2025 at the Dingen die niet verkopen art center in Antwerp.
