In 'The Geopolitics of Gills', Anastasia Eggers investigates how aquatic life is affected by geopolitical divisions. For example, British Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg argued that 'British' fish would feel happier and better after Brexit - as if marine fish would adhere to a border in the North Sea. For this project, Eggers follows the migration routes of the herring, which are of course free from any idea of ​​national borders. In doing so, she focuses on the Exclusive Economic Zone between the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, as well as the border of territorial waters, and documents the herring that 'cross' these invisible lines.
