For the Qyzqaras Film Festival in Almaty, Kazakhstan (August 25–31, 2025), Maia Pythia Liu's film "The Bodhi Tree in Bosch's Garden" was presented as a two-channel video installation. The work was part of an exhibition space adjacent to the cinema, which brought together various audiovisual works. Liu: "Thanks to the support of CBK Rotterdam, I was able to not only technically finalize my film (color grading, sound correction), but also to deepen its content by integrating a new sequence with excerpts from 'Snake,' 'Give Me a Chance,' or 'Rebirth' by artist Yezi. This reinforced the focus on collaboration and a feminist perspective, and resonated well with the curatorial theme of the program. The presentation in Almaty marked an important step in the international distribution of my work. It offered the opportunity to bring my film into dialogue with other feminist and intercultural voices from Central and East Asia and the diaspora."
