Van Bakel's short film What Wide Web, shot in the Rotterdam harbor area, was screened in the central exhibition of Art Central Rotterdam XL 2023: SUBJECT:TRANSITION. The exhibition aimed to reflect on transitions in the broadest sense of the word. Van Bakel: In terms of subject choice (energy, ecology, transition, and the chasing between technology and nature), What Wide Web fitted in very well with the theme and the building. For an intimate and immersive viewing and listening experience, I created a setup with headphones.'
