Garage school: underground is an educational project by Santiago Pinol that is part of the group exhibition Radical Symbiosis: Social Life with Microbes in Radius CCA in Delft, organized in the context of the 'Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Year'. In the seventeenth century, Van Leeuwenhoek developed a magnifying glass with which he could see microbes. Through this exhibition, Pinol investigates what these discoveries meant: not in a practical or scientific sense, but in an ontological sense. This led to various outcomes: a bar made of pressed soil, where home-made liqueur was served, a 'bootleg reader' with texts from the Radius ecosystem (other artists, curators, staff), bottles with texts about the history and context of the brewed drinks.
