During a residency at the Rotterdam art space Rib, Claudio Tola created new work for the exhibition "Sorry, No Image (Placeholders)." The starting point was the empty exhibition space, with Tola aiming to reveal the relationships and expectations that can arise from it. The artist explains: "By searching for examples of missing or hidden images, I drew attention to the frames, interfaces, surfaces, and devices that mediate their appearance. Building on the suggestive power of empty space, I aimed to expose and question the relationships and expectations these structures generate, as well as the material conditions that create our experiences with images."
