Janneke van der Putten is developing her latest project, 'Permeating Echoes,' in collaboration with dramaturg and choreographer Lorenzo Di Credico. Together, they explore the echo as a spatial, material, and social phenomenon, inspired by archaic Pan-rituals in which landscape, resonance, and bodily experience were inextricably linked. In preparation for a residency at Cuntaterra in Abruzzo, Italy, Van der Putten is conducting theoretical research in her Rotterdam studio. Additionally, she plans to conduct spatial experiments in which voice and movement function as sculptural and architectural interventions. During their stay in Italy, the duo is working in caves and open landscapes—places where acoustics, darkness, humidity, and geological layering help shape the work. 'Permeating Echoes' is developing into a spatial and performative practice in which voice, body, and minimal interventions function as sculptural means.
