During the Research Language as Medium project, Geertje Brandenburg wants to gain more knowledge about the use of text and language within her art practice focused on spatial work. By delving deeper into these fundamentals, she wants to add a new layer to her work in which text is often used, but is never in the spotlight. By taking a poetry course, she hopes to gain the tools to write more herself and to conduct research into poetry as a spatial artistic goal, inspired by artists such as Jenny Holzer and Barbara Kruger and the poet Emily Dickinson. According to the advisory committee, this application contains strong principles with great potential and individuality.
