Marta Hryniuk presented the new audiovisual installation 'Instant Soup and Salo' together with Nick Thomas at the exhibition 'New Grounds' in Kunstfront, Maastricht. The work tells about two parallel stories in Ukraine after the Russian invasion. Oksana is a psychologist and dance teacher in a community center in Kosiv. Since the invasion, this building has served as a center where volunteers make soup, salo and camouflage nets for the front lines. Margarita is a painter and also works as a volunteer medic who evacuates wounded soldiers, civilians and animals. Against the background of major themes such as war, resistance and meaning, the viewer is invited to reflect on the lives of the women who form the 'home front' in this war. The presentation of the installation, which consists of a large projection, a TV screen, a slide projector with still images and the sound played at a loud volume, makes it possible to experience the work in fragments and from different perspectives.
