'Ohne Anfang und Ende' is an exhibition and performance by Dagmar Baumann, as part of the exhibition 'Santa Maria' at art space Redaktion in Lucerne, Switzerland. Eight billboards displayed photographs of geological formations in rocks from the Alps and Oman. Baumann selected the images from the scientific archives of her husband, Janos Urai (1950–2023), a researcher and professor of structural geology. During a two-hour performance on May 16, 2026, Baumann painted undulating strokes on the photographs using a self-made 60-centimeter-wide brush. The brushstrokes resonate with the folds in the rock. The performance is a ritual to bring love and recognition beyond death into the lived present. The billboards are on view until September 2026.
