Mirror Me is an installation by Herman Lamers at Galerie Lecq, the former bridge keeper's house on the Westzeedijk in Rotterdam. The installation consisted of three parts, each reflecting on the former function of the house. The first part involved a poster with the text 'De tijd doden' (killing time). The second part was an LED light bar above the door with thirty sentences about the utility and purpose of waiting, standing still, and moving. The third part was a large 2 x 2 meter neon sculpture inside the house. It depicted a cloud, a sun, and a tree. Visitors could view the installation day and night. Especially at night, this provided a unique experience: a lovely image of nature in neon juxtaposed with an incomprehensible poster.
