Migrating Ecologies takes the city and its port as its starting point. Within this project, Alaa Abu Asad investigated the relationship between people (city dwellers) and 'more-than-human bodies', such as plants, animals, stones or ships, and wonders how we view this. What kind of life is there in the areas outside the city? And how do city dwellers view the port, as a place where new species of flora and fauna come ashore? The first part of the project was presented at De Aanschouw, the second part consisted of performances, presentations and conversations during a food-sharing event in café SMAAK. Photo: Florian Cramer
