In July 2024, Ari (Larisa) David walked the streets of Rotterdam for twelve hours. During this extensive walk, the artist absorbed all thoughts, feelings and sensory impressions, exploring the way the city affects David’s body and senses. The sounds David absorbed formed the basis of a new soundscape and a text. The walk is part of the project ‘Mäandern:::meander’, in which international artists perform a twelve-hour performance in their hometown. In the summer, all participants gathered in Berlin for collective interventions, performances or other collaborations. Most participants chose to stage their performances or actions in public spaces – parks, streets and other urban spaces in Berlin. David’s project consisted of a performance in which the artist recited the text about the wandering in Rotterdam, accompanied by a soundscape of Görlitzer Park. This performance was an attempt to bring the atmosphere of one city to the other. David also organised a joint action with Amber de Saeger in the public space of the Lichtenberg district and a performance in the Lichtenberg Studios, where David cast a 'spell' in which the artist tried to transform the idea of ​​'exhaustion' into something else.
