In 2026, Bergur Anderson was selected to participate in the Listening Academy in Vienna. The Listening Academy is an independent research academy focusing on listening as a philosophical, artistic, social, and physical subject. Sound artists gather here to share work, collaborate, and learn. This time, the theme was 'Echoes, Echologies, Memory Work'. During his participation, Anderson conducted further research for his project 'Vinalag', which is based on the traditions of medieval French troubadours. In that era, poems and songs changed as they were passed down from poet to poet. In this way, troubadours created a community of poetry and love within an oppressive society. Their works were not only carriers of information but also art, tributes, and subversive messages. Based on that research, Anderson is developing a methodology for vocal compositions with an 'interregional question-and-answer structure'. By experimenting with this, he can compose in a polyphonic, non-literary, open, and spatial manner.
