Thanks to the Practical Contribution, Anna Bierler was able to further develop her project 'Layers of Petrification'. One of her sources of inspiration is Medusa, who petrified anyone who looked into her eyes. What relevance does this myth have for our contemporary relationship to global warming? In recent months, Bierler wrote the script for the performance 'A Dog Running Away With A Stubborn Expression', in which chat conversations, memories and dreams merge into a poem. The story follows the myth of Medusa and is based on the lived experience of living with this monster. The production largely took place in Bierler's studio in Het Archief, where she collaborated with sound artist Colette Aliman and designer Sofia Irene. The performance took place during the Open Out Festival in Tromsø and was subsequently shown in Rotterdam and Brussels.
