With the I&V application "Layered Complexity," Stellata Koppe aims to further develop her weaving practice by delving into multilayered weaving. This technique is rarely used in combination with complex patterns, which she frequently uses in her existing practice. Besides this technical development, Koppe now also hopes to find ways to weave personal feelings and experiences more narratively into the layers, and to create connections between those layers, similar to those present within herself. She will begin the project by making test weaves, allowing ample room for experimentation with color, pattern, and layering. She will be guided in this process by Babs van de Thillard, an experienced multilayer weaver. Her findings will be recorded online so that other weavers and interested parties can follow her process.
