With the interactive installation I/Another, Angelina Kozhevnikova aims to redefine the interaction between human and machine as an evolving, embodied physical conversation. The installation invites visitors to engage in non-verbal dialogues with a robot sculpture: Another. Unlike many modern robots, Another is not designed to mimic humans or animals. However, Another does respond to the visitor's movement. The robot sculpture is constructed from 3D-printed phosphorescent parts that are sewn together by hand. A Kinect sensor detects the key body points of the visitor standing in front of the sculpture and sends this information to the robot's brain, which responds with its own movements.
