Alexandra Roozen investigated the function of the framework in her work with EDGE. Her 'all-over structures' fill the entire paper, from top left to bottom right, seeming to extend beyond the frame. With the 'mono' drawings she has found a way to view the frame not as a traditional quadrilateral, but as a shape. She investigated this further with the dry needle technique. During the design process the possibility arose to develop a relief print from the same basic shape. This extra step created an exciting dialogue between visual language and technology, about the concept of 'image'.
