Luisa Badino created the installation 'Eavesdropper Strings' for project space VLAK in Rotterdam, in which visitors unknowingly eavesdrop on their surroundings. To achieve this, Badino created an analog sound mechanism made of ceramics, tubes, and metal. Sound vibrations from the adjacent apartment traveled through this sculpture into the exhibition space. Visitors were invited to bring their ears to the ceramic horns, where they heard a continuous whisper from the apartment. This was combined with an unsettling, eerie recording, creating a collage-like soundscape in which real and recorded time overlap.
