Broer, 2017 – present is a photo series of 44 grid portraits by Florian Braakman that was exhibited at the Jakarta International Photography Festival (JIPFEST) in September 2023. The portraits are of various men who addressed Braakman on the street as 'brother'. The friendly term evokes a kinship that transcends background and family ties. During his participation in the JIPFEST, Braakman not only exhibited his work, but also gave presentations and workshops. During his visit to the country he also made new portraits of Indonesian people he met.
