Dead Circuits, Ground Floor is a site-specific installation by RACCOONS Studio (Tianyi Zheng and Panida Té Petchara). It brings together discarded screens, cables, small devices, and furniture found in the surrounding area. The objects function more as inhabitants of the space than as components of a carefully curated exhibition. In this way, the installation reflects on the 'afterlife' of consumer electronics and the global circulation of electronic waste. The objects mirror storage, neglect, and stagnation. The installation was on display in the entrance of VLAK, an artist-run project space in Rotterdam-West. There were two public viewing times, but the installation could be viewed by passersby at any time through the window in the door.
