Counterbodies 4 is a group exhibition in De Achtertuin in Rotterdam showing works inspired by the human body. Sophie Teunissen was one of the artists. A digital photo was projected on an infinity wall. A work by Isabelle de Rooij was placed for this purpose: a disintegrated human body made of plaster, spread across the surface. As a result, the works inevitably entered into a dialogue. In the exhibition the artists explore the beauty, vulnerability, strength and complexity of the human body. At the same time, they delve deeper into the social and cultural meanings attributed to the human body. The aim is to challenge the visitor to think about their own views and prejudices about the body.
