In COLORFUL GESTURES, an exhibition in Pictura from October 14 to November 26, 2023, artists Jelmer Konjo, Cindy Bakker and Katrijn Verstegen came together. The space occupied by the work was central to all three. Everyday elements were used to literally add color to the exhibition. Konjo investigates and observes how we deal with the norm of 'being an adult' and what this means. An important principle in his work is the open way of looking, investigating and making mistakes during childhood and changing or even disappearing as we grow up. Before you know it, you end up in a rut where everything has to be functional and deliver results. In his work Jelmer tries to continue to break that rut.
