Haenen created six new collage works for the exhibition 'Balawatsch in Vitro' that took place at H(A)L in Het Archief in February 2024. With the site-specific works Neon Collage no. 018 & 019, the artist made a series of white light/shadow reflections and tensioned the pillars with tension straps. No. 019 is also an ode to his favorite work of art in Rotterdam on the Willemsbrug by Auke de Vries. Neon Collage no. 020 & 021 give the impression of incomplete construction kits, inviting the viewer to investigate for themselves what is there to see. Neon Collage no. 022 plays with balance, proportions and vulnerability. A small support for a large shape. The new works that Haenen created for this exhibition represent a strong next step in his practice.
