With Auto-Streams, Sandra Golubjevaite bridges language, autobiography and coding methods as a critical commentary on the modified, often male-dominated domain of software development. The research is a critical reflection on the existing digital communication platforms that have come to play an important role in the daily lives of many artists since the pandemic. The commercial and non-adaptable nature of these platforms forces artists to adapt their work to the existing format and interface during online events. Golubjevaite uses feminist DIY coding methods to explore and develop open-source and non-linear alternatives that can accommodate performances where text is written and streamed in real time. She mainly uses autofiction and car theory, in which personal experience is experimentally linked to a theoretical discourse. The advisory committee is positive about this relevant and committed, yet very personal research in which the visual translation is an in-depth step in her art practice.
