A Collection of Urban Nothingness is a research project by Tianyi Zheng, in which she delves deeper into the relationship between household waste and material production in consumer societies. Zheng collected and cataloged various discarded objects and materials, such as furniture or household appliances. Inspired by Jacques Derrida's concept of hauntology, she studied the social and cultural significance of waste in contemporary urban environments. The results of the work were on display during a three-day exhibition with an opening performance.
