Purpose
The I&V Grant for visual artists in Rotterdam is the newly styled Research and Development Grant (O&O), which was introduced by the local government in 2010. The grant supports an impulse for and deepening of the artistic practice of Rotterdam artists through financial compensation for the time spent working.
For who
This grant is for Rotterdam-based artists. Applications can only be made by artists who:
– are registered with Art Office;
– have login credentials for artoffice.info;
– have an artist page that is up to date on the day of the request.
For what
A work period/project with a clearly defined artistic question/objective.
Maximum contribution
€7.500. The subsidy is intended as time compensation for the artist. The fee amount depends on the duration of the project.

Procedure
The application is made through the artist's Art Office account. To ensure the budget lasts the full year, there are three rounds of applications. Applicants must take into account a processing period of eight weeks from the given deadline. The project must not start before the application deadline.

If the application meets the formal criteria (for more information see the
regulations), it will be submitted to an expert advisory committee. In addition to meeting the requirements, the committee's advice is determined by the artistic quality of the project and the expected impact on the artist's development. Based on this advice, the director of CBK Rotterdam will decide whether a subsidy should be granted, and the amount of any financial contribution given. Applicants will be informed of the decision by email.

Report
After completion of the project, the applicant must submit a project report to Art Office within six weeks of the delivery date. terms of reporting are sent with the award.
Important!
It is not possible to submit an I&V application if you have a Grant for Artistic Practice (Praktijkbijdrage) application pending, and vice versa.
