In my audiovisual work I investigate frameworks in society by often using my personal environment and history as a mirror. As the child of a father who is a refugee in his own country - Cyprus, identity issues continue to arise that touch on more themes in a broader context. Within these issues I look for stories that reflect the sincerity of man and at the same time expose the absurdities of society.

(R)oma - Een (familie)geschiedenis
Together with Klaas Burger and the Academy for Imaging, we are working on a cinematic installation about the life of an elderly Yugoslav woman from the Roma community. The basis of the story is an interview we recorded with her. Will her family be able to become part of Dutch society after living here for 50 years? How do the frames in media and policy affect the way in which the family directs its own identity? (see link)
