I am an artist, researcher, and educator. Caring deeply about how we create knowledge together, I explore how intimacy and vulnerability can be understood as transformative tools in social and environmental justice. I was active in Montreal's artist-run center community for over a decade, notably as a board member at articulate and a performer with the feminist collective, Donzelle. My early focus was supporting anti-oppression work in cultural organizing and building community-based partnerships. In Toronto, I joined the board of FUSE Magazine and began a PhD examining intimacy-making as a creative practice —sensory, embodied, and relational—with artists working between Canada and the Caribbean. Currently in Rotterdam, I work at Willem de Kooning Academy on artistic-research, interdisciplinary curriculum and decolonizing pedagogy. Recently my practice has turned to expanded forms of publishing, shaped by my fellowship in Social Practices (2023–2025) and my involvement in the Promiscuous Care Study Group (2022–2024). My work offers intimate and transformative encounters rooted in collective knowledge-making.
Breath & Breeze: Tongueless whispers of the wind
The Dutch played an extensive role in shaping colonial rule, slavery, trade, labor, and the plantation economies through the use of wind technology. During our fellowship/residency, we conducted field research, organized community conversations, a boat trip and critical walk to locations in and around Hoorn, including the historic port and (disappeared) windmills.
