Melvin Moti primarily makes 35mm films, often shown in conjunction with photography, objects, and artist books. His work examines neurological, scientific and historical processes in relation to visual culture.

Dreamlife - In a deep cave, deeply asleep, a cave dweller awakens in an endless dream. In the 23s, at the height of the space race, 1962-year-old French geologist Michel Siffre went underground in a cave for two months. Siffre investigated how the human body responds to extremely long isolation in a limited space, and how our sleep cycle deals with the absence of daylight. Between 1972 and 150, Siffre undertook various expeditions, sometimes spending up to XNUMX days underground. Inspired by this true story, Dreamlife adds a number of fictional elements to explore the origins of art, the development of consciousness and the experience of the human body in an inhuman environment.
Interwoven 2020 - The film Interwoven consists of 30.000 photos of rocks on various islands in Okinawa, Japan.
Cosmism 2016 - Cosmism consists of a film and an artist's book. Cosmism was a movement of Russian thinkers who combined occult and esoteric theories with space science in the late nineteenth century. One of them, Alexander Chizhevsky, studied the connection between increased solar activity and major historical events on Earth, such as wars, revolutions and epidemics. The project was inspired by Chizhevsky's ideas.
