Flo Meijer graduated from Central Saint Martins Art Academy in London in 2021. Instead of filming grand, extraordinary events, Flo explores the absurdity of ordinary and everyday life in her films. Small stories, normally overlooked. Her ambition is to make autonomous, auteurist films that can be seen in both the artistic and mainstream film circuits. Flo's work consistently straddles the line between these two worlds. Dutch identity is a recurring theme in her work. In 2025, she received the Talent Development grant from the Dutch Creative Industries Fund NL.

Lux lives with her father, dog Kalf and 72 cows on a farm. She is happy among the cows, but connecting with her classmates is difficult. They are horse riding, so Lux teaches herself to ride cow Dakota. The training starts off fun, but Lux increasingly wants Dakota to become a horse. Unconsciously, she is risking what is most dear to her; her friendship with Dakota.
Dutch Dreams
Dutch Dreams is a twelve minute long daydream, a film in which reality and surreality seamlessly blend. Through several everyday stories, from my Indonesian grandfather eating his spekkoek on a kadetje, to the Surinamese group of men holding a bird singing contest, to two girls looking for the 'Dutch Light' through a small mirror, all taking place within a small distance of each other in the Dutch polders, the films explores the notion of Dutchness.
We Belong Together
We Belong Together is an interdisciplinary project that questions the concept of 'individuality' through the combination of fashion and film. This project is a collaboration between textile artist and fashion designer Nadie Borggreve and filmmaker Flo Meijer.
