From 1976, the year in which I started my professional practice in Dijon, until my most recent paintings today, the landscape and the cityscape have been a common thread throughout my oeuvre. Although I have worked in various techniques, materials (oil paint, watercolor, etchings and acrylic) and styles over the years, my work remains recognizable through the handwriting Aussems. After exhibiting a lot in the beginning, I later focused on making commissioned work, especially for Municipal Archives throughout the Netherlands, for museums and private individuals. For the past two years I have been mainly free work again.
