For who

Visual artists who graduated from a recognized Dutch art academy in Fine Art no more than three years ago can register as a 'Starter' for a period of three years from their registration date. For this, you must submit a diploma and a completed online registration form. After the three-year period, you will be evaluated on your professionalism.

Professional visual artists with an autonomous practice who live and work within the municipality of Rotterdam are eligible. This includes the following areas: Centrum, Noord, Overschie, Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Prins Alexander, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Delfshaven, Feijenoord, Charlois, IJsselmonde, Pernis, Hoogvliet, Rozenburg and Hoek van Holland. Due to budget limitations and administration reasons, artists living in neighboring municipalities are not eligible to apply.

The professionalism of all applications are reviewed. You must be working as an autonomous visual artist (individually or in a group) and you have a professional practice, such as presentations, exhibitions, residencies, etc. For artists with an interdisciplinary professional practice (e.g. design, illustration, design, architecture, music), the visual elements in particular will be assessed.

  • Art Office can generate publicity for artists, in particular for projects funded by us;
  • You will receive our monthly newsletter with information to support your professional practice;
